Commonwealth LNG engaged in industry-leading collaboration with the Cameron Parish Police Jury and the community in designing and approving a park-and-ride program to reduce traffic impacts and optimize safety for all residents.

Policies that put stakeholders first
- Landowner engagement: transparent, respectful communication and fair dealing with landowners and neighbors throughout permitting, construction, and operations.
- Community feedback and grievance process: a published process for raising concerns, with tracked responses and defined resolution timelines.
- Traffic management plan: designated haul routes, shift scheduling, and the park-and-ride program to keep construction traffic off residential roads.
- Noise, light, and dust controls: construction practices and operating controls that limit nuisance impacts on nearby residents.
- Waterway and fisheries coordination: ongoing coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard, pilots, and commercial and recreational users of the Calcasieu Ship Channel.

Regulatory compliance
Requirements we meet
The expansion is subject to comprehensive federal, state, and local review. Commonwealth LNG designs, builds, and operates in compliance with the requirements of, among others:
- Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC): siting authorization and environmental review under the Natural Gas Act and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- U.S. Department of Energy (DOE): LNG export authorizations.
- U.S. Coast Guard: waterway suitability and marine safety and security requirements (33 CFR Part 127).
- Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA): federal LNG facility safety standards (49 CFR Part 193) and NFPA 59A.
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Clean Water Act Section 404 and Rivers and Harbors Act Section 10 permits.
- Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources (LDENR): state air and water permits and Coastal Use Permit.
- Cameron Parish: local approvals and coordination with the Police Jury.
